Luckily I didn't have far to look for an illustrator that would do justice to potentially the first of many fun to read but also wonderfully empowering books for children and adults alike. I was introduced to Eve Bourrat by good friend and fellow EFT practioner Michelle Cassar. Michelle successfully launched her fantastic environmentally focused book Seb and Polly Planet in 2019 and Eve played a vital part in making it such a great success. After speaking with Eve I immediately knew we were on the same wave length and she was going to be an invaluable asset to the team. Here are a few words from our illustrator:
"Hello, I am an illustrator - designer known under creat’eve illustration. I also work as an art facilitator, offering workshops for well being for children and adults who experience anxiety and depression. Therefore being contacted by James was a great honour and as Mum of 2 boys I was very keen to take part in such an inspiring project to support young people.
I loved the story straight away and enjoy illustrating the characters. By the way keep an eye, for James’ character (or caricature) drawing, I will be presenting soon!"
You've already seen some of the fantastic work that Eve has been working on and I can't wait to see what's coming next. Eve mentioned doing my caricature and I'm looking forward to seeing that (I think!). When we launch the crowdfunding phase at the start of March there will be a limited opportunity to have your child(s) own character drawn and placed on our website as a thank you for your support. We will have an update on 'crowdfunding' as well as our intention to establish a non-profit organisation, in the next few weeks.
What's amazing about Eve is that she is able to use her creativity across a number of platforms including illustrations, digital media and even animations. We will be working closely together on all sorts of downloads, animated videos and lots more including future books in the months to come.
Thanks for stopping by and remember it's children's mental health week starting 1st February and we will be doing live activities every day from the Facebook group so please make sure you have joined the group and have told all your friends about it.
Take care and remember it's not magic..........but it could be
