Lets have a warm welcome for our first character. He is a father of two children and three cats who shares a passion for exploring all the fantastic ways we can help our children learn emotional intelligence. That means that just like learning maths to overcome equations, we can learn how to positively use our emotions to overcome stress and anxiety, overcome problems and build resilience. In doing so we can help our young people manage any rubbish thoughts and feelings that may upset them or hold them back in life from achieving their true potential and also from just being happy in their childhood. The magical part is that we when we help our children learn great mental health skills then we also benefit from them as a whole family.
Moving on let me introduce you to three more characters, Rose, Arlo and Xavier.
In our first book, 'tips, tricks and sciency bits to manage anxiety', which we hope to get published by the summer; Rose is in her first year at 'Stormy Skies Magic Academy'. Although she loves it there, there are certain parts of schooling that makes her quite anxious, and one of them is taking exams! Luckily, Rose has her good friends nearby, including Arlo and Xavier to show her some great ways for her to manage her anxiety. By following their advice she soon starts feel a lot better about the exams. She also starts to understand that she can use these new skills to manage any other worries she might come her way. The techniques she learns are so powerful that they may seem like magic but actually they can be learnt and used by absolutely anyone, and in fact when used as a group. say as a family or in school, they can be even more powerful.
We will catch up with Rose, Arlo and Xavier in the weeks to come and introduce some other characters and a bit more about 'Stormy Skies Magic Academy'. Before we finish I have to confess that the first character we met (the one with the beard) is actually the author of our first book although I am hoping he will be making some appearances along the way. One of the rewards for supporting the crowdfunding project (which we will discuss next week) will be the opportunity to get your own character drawn up and displayed on the website so please check out our next blog on Monday 8th February.
Until then remember, its not magic.....but it could be
