Suitable for all ages and loved by children and young people, Picture Tapping is a gentle but mighty way to both tackling the day to day feelings of anxiety and working towards the root cause of anxiety, and is achievable without the client even talking about the cause or effect itself. Picture Tapping (PTT) is a blend of Art based work and Energy Psychology that can bring impressive resolution of many issues rapidly and painlessly.  It is very gentle and often gives faster resolution than other forms of energy work. Children love to work with PTT. They can begin to deal with their issues in a fun and enjoyable way and may never need to actually talk about what is wrong. PTT is equally effective for adults.

No particular artistic skills are required - in fact it is better if you are not artistically trained so that the logical mind is kept out of the way.  The pictures are drawn from the subconscious levels of the mind which knows how every problem is encoded and is only to happy to send up the correct images when the right questions are asked. The pictures drawn can range from stick people and random shapes through to more detailed drawings. We do not try to interpret the pictures at all, simply describe what has been drawn and tap on acupressure points at the same time. It  sounds odd but really does work very effectively, gently and quickly. No need to talk endlessly about the issues or re-live traumatic events from the past.  

What happens in a Picture Tapping Session?

You will be asked to choose a problem with which to work, then to draw a picture of how that problem feels to you right now. You are then prompted to describe the picture in terms of shapes, sizes, colours, location on the paper while tapping on Acupressure points - exactly the same ones that we use for EFT work. You then draw another picture and so on until the sequence ends with some sort of resolution. It really could not be simpler.

What can PTT be used for?

Specific problems where the cause is known but the event is felt too keenly to be addressed directly:
(PTT can be a very dis associative technique)

  • Physical problems.  e.g: this headache, this pain in my knee, etc.

  • Emotional problems.  e.g: Spider Phobia, Anger at my boss etc.

  • Problems that appear to be blocked and are resisting clearance using other methods.

Global problems that seem too big, complex, vague or scary to address directly:

  • Low Self Esteem

  • Low moods and some forms of depression

  • Anxiety states and panicky feelings

  • Bullying in school or in the workplace

  • Relationship problems with family and friends

  • Money worries

  • Blocks to success

  • Birth issues

  • Generational issues

  • Past Life issues.. and many more.

  • All the events that are behind a problem

  • Resistance to letting go of a problem

  • Limiting beliefs such as “I`m not good enough” or “Something terrible is going to happen”

  • Complex health issues  e.g. emotions about diagnosis and treatment for varied conditions.
